I am Sudha Ghimire from Nepal. I completed my undergraduate study back in 2019 and rightly after that, I started working as a forest officer in Nepalese Ministry. During my working tenure, I got an opportunity to accelerate my knowledge and experiences about the plant communities of the high Himalayas, including general disturbances witnessed in high-altitude vegetation belts. Such involvement led me to develop a strong desire to continue working in a similar field. Accordingly, I am here to start my ecological master’s degree at IRF-UQAT. For the next two years, I will be working on a research project that will explore the cumulative effects of interacting multiple disturbances on bryophyte communities in the boreal forest of Quebec. I am grateful to be a part of UQAT and look forward to extending my academic and research career.
